Office Shredders

Shredders are an important element in the corporate world because they allow for rapid data and information destruction of confidential papers and documents so you can have the peace of mind of knowing that your data is securely destroyed and not available to rivals or criminals who might want to rob you or your company.

In many offices, especially where financial information shows up on paper, it's important to know for sure that information doesn't leave the office, at least not in one legible piece. And not only paper documents represent a threat, but also lost CDs or anything similar could really damage your business if they fall in the wrong hands.

The simple and cheap solution to this problem is a simple shredder which takes care of destroying all the documents and CDs you could be needing and using. What is most important here is that your shredder is of a good quality, so that it does its service well and for a long time, especially in the corporate environment. You don't want to shop for a new one every two months so be sure to not just pick the cheapest you can find.

Another important point are ergonomics because if you have a secretary he or she will have to empty it once in a while and if she's not very strong she will have trouble lifting that big heavy motor block and everything so make sure your shredder's motor can be removed to empty just its bin and not the whole apparatus.

When you think about data sensitivity it is important to consider the two most usual kinds of shredders. Either they cut lengthwise into stripes or they have a cross cut mechanism which turns everything into tiny confetti flakes, which is far more difficult to recover if somebody would want to piece together the information anew. If you're dealing with a lot of financial documents such as accounting, you should consider getting some device that turns the paper into unreadable micro-slips because you don't want entire names to remain legible on your destroyed paper. This is important, especially if you want the trust of your customers as an accountant.
